The phrase “go big or go home” takes on special meaning in this roller coaster of teenage emotion. Willowdean is a small-town girl with everyday problems, only she sees them as large as her thighs. This is not your typical “fat girl gets a happy ending” kind of story. This is a story about identity and coming to grips with the person you are underneath all the labels the world puts on you. This is a story about knowing yourself and following your heart, a story of loyalty, friendship and letting go of insecurities. It is my opinion that anyone who suffers from body issues will fall in love with Will and her friends in her Podunk Texas town.
This sounds like a book many young preteens and young adults should read. In today’s society, it seems like body image is an even bigger problem than in the past. Adding to my to read list. Thanks for the review.

It is one of those stories that sticks with me. It isn’t super profound, but it is so REAL-Cliche but real. If that is possible.

This sounds like a very timely book considering our cultural struggle with this issue.

It is a pretty “girl” book, Stereo typically speaking. I loved it, but would be surprised if you did. 🙂
